Highfield House hosted “An Evening with Don Sickler” on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013
Don Sickler was the architect in Mies van der Rohe’s Chicago office who worked hand-in-hand with Mies in developing the plans for and overseeing the construction of our historic building. He is now a native of Baltimore and a consultant to us on several projects underway in our building.
In his presentation, Don discussed the history of building Highfield House and its unique place in Mies’ architectural contributions to the Modernist movement. His talk was followed by an opportunity for residents to ask their own questions about our building’s history and place.
The event was held in the Guilford Room.
